How is my NDIS plan managed?
There are a number of ways a participant funding is approved and a few different choices when it comes to managing how you spend it:
Self- managed – You manage all the administration yourself, including the funding provided in your plan to pay for supports and services, consumables such as equipment for eating and drinking, beds and pressure care accessories, specialised household furniture, personal alarms etc.
Plan – managed – You appoint an NDIS registered provider, known as a Plan Manager, to manage your plan for you, help you keep track of your funds, pay providers and services and take care of financial reporting.
NDIA – managed funding -The NDIA holds your funding and pays the providers for supports and services on your behalf. The providers will make a claim for their services directly from NDIA, so you do not need to pay and or keep records yourself.
